There are Citizens Advice Bureau in most towns and cities in the UK. They provide employment, housing, benefits, and immigration advice and the service is free.

Are running a project to provide advice to migrant workers. They are willing to meet with groups, can give advice about a range of tax cedits and benefits, advice about the Worker Registration Scheme, and can see poeple individually by appointment.

Emerging Communities Project - Bolton Citizens Advice Bureau
Emerging Communities Integration Project The Emerging Communities Integration Project is being funded by the Advice Plus funding stream of the Big Lottery Fund for three years.

ECIP has three main elements to its provision:
  • Advice and casework service
  • Community outreach and resettlement
  • Second tier support
Like the previous Asylum Support Project, ECIP will be providing an advice and casework service to asylum seekers, refugees, those with settled status, 'failed' asylum seekers and accession nationals.

  • Accessing Specialist Immigration Services
  • Housing Options
  • Worker Registration Scheme

Support to other organisations
The Emerging Communities Integration Project will continue to provide advice and information on asylum, refugee and migrant worker issues to other organisations in Bolton.

We provide:
  • Advice and assistance on housing and homelessness options
  • Advice on setting up tenancies (tenancy sign up, utilities set up etc)
  • Advice and assistance around tenancy rights and responsibilities (tenancy deposit protection, neighbour nuisance, anti-social behaviour, tenancy obligations, health and safety and environmental health issues etc).
  • Assistance with furnishing flat (applications for CCG's, free furniture).
  • Linking into education and health services
  • Linking into community groups and support
  • Advice and assistance on basic debt etc.
